The Snowa and Daewoo external inline refrigerator filter is designed to filter the water of side-by-side refrigerators of these two brands. Its activated carbon media helps reduce chlorine and suspended particles in the water and is used for the water supplied to the dispenser and ice maker.

This external side-by-side refrigerator water filter has a standard construction and filters the water, removing impurities entering the ice maker and dispenser system. In addition to improving the taste and odor of the water, using this filter helps prevent scale build-up and damage to the internal parts and the solenoid valve of the appliance.

Installing and Replacing the Snowa & Daewoo Side-by-Side Filter

To keep the solenoid valve and ice maker working properly, Snowa and Daewoo side-by-side refrigerators need a standard external inline filter on the inlet hose. To replace or install this external filter, follow the instructions below:

1. Shut off the water: before anything else, fully close the angle valve or the main water valve leading to the back of the refrigerator so the line is isolated.

2. Prepare and cut the tube: for a firm connection you need two clean, square tube ends. If an inline filter was previously installed, cut off the ends of the old tubes with a cutter or sharp scissors to remove the worn sections; if this is your first installation, cut the hose at a convenient, accessible point.

3. Set the flow direction (FLOW) and flush the carbon: connect the tube coming from the mains water valve to the filter inlet (the side that does not have the FLOW label). Place a container under the outlet, open the water and let it run for about 30 seconds so the initial black activated carbon particles are fully flushed out. Then close the water and connect the second tube (leading to the refrigerator) to the side with the arrow and the word FLOW (the water flow direction indicator) on the body.

4. Final test and leak check: open the water and enjoy the filtered water. During the first 24 hours after installation, keep an eye on the fittings and the filter body to make sure there are no leaks; no leaks means the part has been installed correctly.
