Description
The large Aqua-Pure external side-by-side refrigerator filter is installed externally, with a bulkier housing, on the water inlet line of various refrigerators. Using quality activated carbon media, this model effectively reduces chlorine, odor and suspended particles and brings the quality of the water from the dispenser and ice maker to a desirable level. The standard design of this filter is highly compatible with the water supply systems of various side-by-side models and creates a stable, even flow.
Features of the Large Aqua-Pure Inline Filter
This external side-by-side refrigerator water filter has a standard construction and is designed to filter the water and reduce impurities in the water inlet line of the ice maker and dispenser. In addition to helping improve the taste and odor of the water, using this filter reduces the build-up of sediment and helps prevent damage to the internal parts and the solenoid valve of the appliance.
- Filtration capacity: 2,500 gallons (9,460 liters) of water
- Dimensions: 30 cm long with a 6 cm cross-section diameter (large external model)
- Approximate weight: about 350 g
- Material: organic granular activated carbon with a safe, standard food-grade protective shell
- Filter location: external filter; can be installed in-line on the water inlet hose of Emersun, Midea and Pakshoma side-by-side refrigerators using push-fit fittings
- Certifications: holds recognized international water health certifications, including NSF/ANSI 42 and 53
This filter can help improve ice clarity and the quality of the output water.
How to Install and Replace the Rear-Mounted Refrigerator Water Filter
The large Aqua-Pure external filter is one of the most standard and widely used external models on the market. Thanks to its high capacity and distinctive build quality, it is the most compatible with the water systems of American side-by-side refrigerators such as General Electric (GE), Whirlpool and Maytag. To install or replace this filter properly on the inlet hose, follow the steps below carefully:
1. Shut off the water: first, close the water inlet valve leading to the back of the refrigerator so the water pressure in the circuit drops to zero.
2. Prepare and cut the hose: for an in-line installation you need two clean, free tube ends. If you previously had an external filter, cut off the ends of the old hoses perfectly square and straight with scissors or a sharp cutter. If this is your first time installing this filter, cut the water hose at a suitable, accessible point.
3. Set the flow direction (FLOW) and flush initially: as shown, connect the tube coming from the water valve to the filter inlet (the side without the FLOW label). Now open the water and let it run for about 30 seconds so the initial black carbon is completely flushed out and discarded. Then close the valve and connect the other end of the hose (leading to the refrigerator) to the side with the word FLOW (the water flow direction) on the body.
4. Final connection test: open the water and enjoy clean, fresh water. During the first 24 hours after installation, be sure to check the fittings and the filter body to make sure there are no leaks or drips; this indicates the system is sealed correctly.
This model is known as the main Aqua-Pure external water and ice filter and is installed on the inlet hose of various side-by-side refrigerators.
