Features of the Bosch 553629 (Mexico) Internal Side-by-Side Filter

The Mexican-made Bosch rocket-type refrigerator filter (code 553629) is used to filter the water entering the refrigerator and reduce the impurities in the water used. By sitting in the appliance’s water path, it helps improve the quality, taste and odor of the water and prevents particles and contaminants in the water from entering the appliance. How to Install the Bosch Rocket-Type Refrigerator Filter

The Bosch internal rocket-type filter (technical code 5553629) is a factory-grade, high-quality part installed in the internal compartment of Bosch side-by-side refrigerators. To replace it properly, follow the steps below:

1. Close the water inlet valve and press the dispenser paddle for a few seconds to release the circuit pressure.
2. Turn the old filter 90 degrees counter-clockwise to release it and pull it straight out.
3. Remove the protective cap from the new filter, place it in its housing and turn it 90 degrees clockwise until it locks fully.
4. Open the water valve and dispense and discard about 3 to 5 liters of water from the paddle so the air is fully purged and the initial carbon is flushed out.

Resetting the filter light: after installation, hold the Water Filter button on the Bosch refrigerator panel for 3 seconds so the warning light resets.

Frequently asked questions

1) Is this filter only for Bosch refrigerators?

This filter is designed for Bosch side-by-side refrigerators, but it can also be used in some similar models of related brands such as Siemens; the main criterion is always the connection type and the location of the filter in the refrigerator itself.

2) How can I tell whether the filter is genuine?

A genuine filter has standard 3M printing, a high-quality body and a valid part number (such as Part Number 553629). To be sure of authenticity, matching the part number to your refrigerator model is the best criterion.
