With activated carbon media, this model helps reduce chlorine and some particles and contaminants in the water, and with a service life of up to one year it is suitable for the dispenser and ice maker.

Features of the LG LT600P Slim-Head Side-by-Side Water Filter

The LG LT600P slim-head side-by-side water filter (codes 5231JA2006F and 5231JA2006A) has a standard construction and removes impurities entering the ice maker and dispenser system. In addition to improving the taste and odor of the water, using this filter helps prevent scale build-up and damage to the internal parts and the solenoid valve of the appliance.

Filtration capacity: 500 gallons (about 1,900 liters) of drinking water

Dimensions: 29.5 cm long and 6 cm thick (dedicated slim rocket design)

Approximate weight: about 350 g

Material: compressed activated carbon core of entirely plant origin with a food-grade plastic body

Filter location: for the interior of LG side-by-side refrigerators; quick twist (screw-type) installation mechanism suited to slim-head sockets

Certifications: approved by international water quality and health authorities, holding NSF/ANSI 42 and 53 standards

This filter has a direct effect on the clarity of the ice and the purity of the output water.

How to Replace the LG Side-by-Side Rocket-Type Water Filter

The LG LT600P internal filter (code 5231JA2006A) is known as the slim-head rocket filter. To replace this model properly, follow the steps below:

Close the water inlet valve and hold the dispenser paddle for a few seconds to release the pressure.

Turn the old filter 90 degrees counter-clockwise to release it and pull it straight out.

Align the new LT600P filter with the groove in the housing and turn it 90 degrees clockwise until it is fully locked.

Open the water valve and dispense and discard about 4 to 5 liters of water from the paddle so the circuit is fully purged and the black carbon is flushed out.

Important note: before installing, make sure the filter code matches; forcing wide-head filters into this housing can break the refrigerator’s internal valve.

Resetting the filter light: finally, hold the
Filter Reset
or
Light/Filter
button on the panel for 3 seconds so the filter timer resets.

The LG slim-head rocket-type refrigerator filter LT600P is designed for installation in the internal compartment of LG side-by-side refrigerators.
